2019 publication award winner announced  

Congratulations to this years’s publication award winner Alexandra Fidyk, associate professor in Department of Secondary Education, University of Alberta. Alexandra  teaches curriculum studies, advanced research (hermeneutics, poetic inquiry, depth psychological inquiry), analytical psychology and trauma studies in relation to teaching and learning. Her transdisciplinary research regarding mental health and wellness supports pre- and in-service teachers as well as health care providers in school contexts.

ARTS Artful Evening Details

The ARTS SIG executive is seeking submissions of artworks, short performance pieces (including drama, poetry, and musical works) which represent artistic scholarly contributions to the field of Education. We want to see your most unique and dynamic work drawn from imaginative scholarly inquiry, for a pop up art exhibit which will be held in conjunction with the 2019 CSSE conference and Congress, taking place in Vancouver British Columbia in June 1st- 5th. Please send submissions and queries to Please include “Artful Evening”  within your email subject.

Tickets For the Artful Evening are available via the CSSE website at $10 for members and their guests.

In conjunction with Congress 2019, the Arts Researchers & Teachers Society (a SIG of CACS) will be holding a special Artful Evening following the CACS pre-conference, in the evening of June 1st, 2019. We will be honouring the creative, artistic, and scholarly contributions made by academics, artists, and educators across Canada. Please join us for a memorable evening of performance, a pop-up visual arts exhibition, and networking with colleagues. We are now accepting submissions (deadline: March 22nd).
