2025 ARTS SIG Life-Time Achievement Award

The ARTS Life-Time Achievement Award is presented to someone with 20 or more years of experience who has made a significant contribution to arts education in Canada through teaching, research, and professional service. The award will be presented bi-annually in rotation with the Emerging Researcher’s Award. A nominator must complete the ARTS Life-Time Achievement Award Nomination Form on pages 2 and 3 of this document and provide the candidate's curriculum vitae. The individual nominated for this award must meet the following four criteria.

An outstanding record of research and publication in arts education within journals, books, and/or research grants, and dissemination of research findings through creative activities and conference presentations.
A high level of teaching and the supervision of graduate students and/or extensive collaborations with undergraduate students
Contributions to teaching materials in arts education as evidenced by textbooks, public reports, videos, audiovisual materials, and/or website.
Service in arts education through committee participation, leadership in arts organizations, and/or journal editorships.

Rationale: Canadian arts education researchers make a substantial contribution to the arts across the country. Unfortunately, this work receives no recognition on the national stage. For this reason, a Lifetime Achievement Award is proposed to someone who has made a significant contribution to arts education in Canada through teaching, publications, and professional service.

Award Nomination Form

The Life-Time Achievement Award is presented to someone who has made a significant contribution to the advancement and promotion of arts in education in Canada through excellence in teaching, research and professional service.

The award will be presented bi-annually in rotation with the Emerging Researcher’s Award.

As a nominator, please submit the candidate's full curriculum vitae and complete the following chart. Using bullet point format, please provide evidence for the following criteria.

Please attach a full curriculum vitae
What year did the candidate complete their terminal degree? How many years has the candidate been involved in the field?
Please provide names, emails and relation of two academic referees and one student referee who will be contacted if the application is shortlisted.
Please provide evidence for an outstanding record of research and publication in arts education within journals, books, and/or research grants, creative activities and dissemination of research findings through conference presentations and/or exhibits.
Please provide evidence for a high level of teaching and the supervision of graduate students and/or extensive collaborations with undergraduate students as demonstrated by teaching awards and/or commendations from students.
Please provide evidence for contributions to teaching materials in arts education as evidenced by pedagogical publications, textbooks, public reports, videos, audiovisual materials, and/or websites.
Please provide evidence for service in arts education through committee participation, leadership in arts organizations/museums and/or journal editorships.

The award is not relegated to one recipient, but rather, a recognition of contribution/service/ excellence that have supported our Special Interest Group and its goals.

Prix d'Ensemble de la Carrière ARTS SIG 2025

Le Prix d'excellence pour l'ensemble de la carrière ARTS est décerné à une personne ayant 20 ans d'expérience ou plus qui a apporté une contribution significative à l'éducation artistique au Canada par l'enseignement, la recherche et le service professionnel. Le prix sera remis tous les deux ans en rotation avec le Prix du chercheur émergent. Un nominateur doit remplir le formulaire de nomination pour le prix d'excellence à vie ARTS aux pages 2 et 3 de ce document et fournir le curriculum vitae du candidat. La personne nommée pour ce prix doit remplir les quatre critères suivants.

Un bilan remarquable de recherche et de publication en éducation artistique dans des revues, des livres et/ou des subventions de recherche, ainsi que la diffusion des résultats de recherche à travers des activités créatives et des présentations en conférences.
Un haut niveau d'enseignement et la supervision des étudiants diplômés et/ou des collaborations étendues avec les étudiants de premier cycle
Contributions aux supports pédagogiques en éducation artistique, telles que démontrées par les manuels, rapports publics, vidéos, supports audiovisuels et/ou site web.
Service dans l'éducation artistique par la participation à des comités, le leadership dans des organisations artistiques et/ou la direction de revues.

Justification : Les chercheurs canadiens en éducation artistique apportent une contribution importante aux arts à travers le pays. Malheureusement, cette œuvre ne reçoit aucune reconnaissance sur la scène nationale. Pour cette raison, un prix pour l'ensemble de sa carrière est proposé à une personne ayant apporté une contribution significative à l'éducation artistique au Canada par l'enseignement, ses publications et son service professionnel.

Le Prix pour l'ensemble de sa carrière est décerné à une personne ayant apporté une contribution significative à l'avancement et à la promotion des arts dans l'éducation au Canada par l'excellence dans l'enseignement, la recherche et le service professionnel.

Prix d'excellence ARTS pour l'ensemble de sa carrière

Le prix ARTS pour l'ensemble de ses réalisations est décerné à une personne ayant 20 ans ou plus d'expérience qui a apporté une contribution significative à l'éducation artistique au Canada par l'enseignement, la recherche et le service professionnel. Le prix sera décerné deux fois par an en rotation avec le Prix du chercheur émergent. Un proposant doit compléter le ARTS Life-time

Formulaire de mise en candidature pour le prix d'excellence et fournir un curriculum vitae du candidat. La personne mise en nomination pour ce prix doit répondre aux quatre critères suivants.

● Un dossier exceptionnel de recherche et de publication dans le domaine de l'éducation artistique dans des revues, des livres et/ou des subventions de recherche, et la diffusion des résultats de la recherche par le biais d'activités créatives et de présentations à des conférences.

● Un haut niveau d'enseignement et d'encadrement d'étudiants diplômés et/ou de collaborations poussées avec des étudiants de premier cycle

● Contributions au matériel pédagogique dans le domaine de l'éducation artistique, comme en témoignent les manuels, les rapports publics, les vidéos, le matériel audiovisuel et/ou le site Web.

● Service dans l'éducation artistique par la participation à des comités, le leadership dans des organismes artistiques et/ou la rédaction de revues.

Justification : Les chercheurs canadiens en éducation artistique apportent une contribution substantielle aux arts partout au pays. Malheureusement, ce travail n'est pas reconnu sur la scène nationale. Pour cette raison, un prix pour l'ensemble de ses réalisations est proposé à une personne qui a apporté une contribution significative à l'éducation artistique au Canada par l'enseignement, les publications et les services professionnels.
